This issue primarily affects 3.0 users but has occasionally been reported with 1.x and 2.x users less often.
Gigastrand testing has seen this issue about 1 in 3 PCs we have tested. This problem usually manifests itself when trying to boot to the live disc, but it is easily solved.
- At the gigastrandos login$ enter user
- password: 1234
- At the prompt that follows, enter startx
That will allow it to boot into the KDE desktop. If you are installing, you may want to shutdown the machine yourself rather than allow the installer to reboot the machine automatically. This will allow you to remove the media from the computer as performing this process does not allow the reboot script to run and eject the media properly.
